What We Do

WVU has approximately 1,400 international students, representing over 100 countries.

The WVU International HomeStart Closet provides international students moving to Morgantown for the first time with welcoming gifts that are useful in starting a home. Although it is not the intent to meet all the needs, basic household necessities are often available. Items might include sheets, towels, blankets, pillows, dishes, flatware, glasses, mugs, kettles, pots, pans, skillets, microwaves, coffee makers and rice cookers. Large furniture items are occasionally available.

About Us

The Closet is a collaborative effort, led by volunteers and sponsored by the Office of International Students and Scholars and the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. It was started by Women Across Cultures, which continues to be involved. Contact with the Closet is best made by writing InternationalHomeStartCloset@mail.wvu.edu.
